one week in MNL

11-18 November 2011. The passing of a relative, working on a humongous pile of homework due in a few days (the 21st to be exact), stuffing ourselves with a ridiculous amount of food, vintage shopping, and long hours of sleep.
Imagine me carrying an A2 canvas in the airport and a huge bag containing sketchbooks and my Mac + my luggage. I had no choice but to drag my art stuff all the way to Manila, else I’d be weeping and whining about unproductive days..the sad life of an art student, I know. Joe had just flown back to Manila 2 days before my flight so I knew right then and there that we’d be seeing! Each other! In our hometown! For the first time! Exclamation points…ok.
Within a week we’d seen each other for a total of 5 days (we adore each other that much). Within a week I’ve eaten bijillion packs of Cracklings and Happy peanuts and stuffed myself with Jollibee’s burger steak. Most of my (gulp) money went to ukay..I’ve snagged 2 glitter blouses, 1 pair of floral trousers, and 1 pair of black denim shorts (which, unfortunately, didn’t fit me and has gone into the hands of my happy boyfriend), all for a grand total of PhP 400 (around S$15).
The sad part of our “spontaneous” trip: we had to fly back for my grandma’s interment. An old piece of jewelry of hers has been passed down to me. It looks very old but I’m not sure if it’s “real”. What if it is? Should I sell it? Loljk. RIP grams.
Anyway, my week-long stay in Manila will cost me 1 sleepless night in Singapore because I’ll be rushing my projects, sigh. I had fun, although I didn’t get to shop that much. That’s all.
